Jonathan Loretto born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, he is part of a family of well-known artists including his mom, Snowflake Flower a storyteller figurine artist from Cochiti. It is through her influence that he made the final decision to attend IAIA.
His work in jewelry and pottery earned him awards at the annual Southwestern Association for Indian Arts Show. He has also been awarded fellowships/residencies to various organizations such as, Vermont Studios in Vermont, School for Advanced Research in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a grant to travel to Mata Ortiz.
He has been continually active in participating in the opportunities IAIA has offered, such as a trip to Germany for the Documenta 14 in Kassel Germany, 2017. More importantly is his dedication toward education, facing challenges to define his character and pass on that knowledge.
